Mastering Mealtime: How to Feed Your Cat with Loyal Beast®

So, you’ve picked up a bag of Loyal Beast® Great choice! You’ve got the premium nutrition part covered. But now comes the practical part: How do you actually feed them? Whether you have a tiny, chaotic kitten or a chilled-out adult cat, feeding isn't just about dumping food in a bowl. Here is the human-friendly guide to keeping your feline happy, healthy, and full using Loyal Beast®.

1. The Golden Rule: The "Slow Roll" Switch

If you are switching to Loyal Beast® from another brand, stop! Don’t just swap the food overnight. Cats have sensitive stomachs, and a sudden change can lead to... well, a litter box disaster that nobody wants to clean up.

Treat the switch like a 7-day project:

  • Days 1-2: Mix 25% Loyal Beast with 75% of their old food.

  • Days 3-4: Go half and half (50/50).

  • Days 5-6: 75% Loyal Beast, 25% old food.

  • Day 7: 100% Loyal Beast®. Welcome to the family!

If your cat turns their nose up at the mix, slow down. Give them an extra day or two at the previous step. Patience wins this game.

2. Feeding Kittens: Fueling the Tiny Tornados

Kittens aren't just small cats—they are growing machines. They burn energy like crazy (usually at 3 AM), so they need a lot of fuel.

  • Frequency is Key: Kittens have tiny stomachs. They can’t eat a huge meal all at once. You want to feed them small amounts 3 to 4 times a day.

  • Don't Skimp: Until they are about 6–12 months old, let them eat until they are full. They are building bones and muscles.

  • Texture Matters: If your kitten is very young and struggling with crunching, you can add a splash of warm water to the Loyal Beast® kibble to soften it up and release those yummy aromas.

3. Feeding Adults: Keeping the "Beast" Lean

Once your cat hits adulthood (usually around 1 year old), their metabolism slows down. Now, the goal changes from "growth" to "maintenance." We want them sleek and strong, not round!

  • The Schedule: Most adult cats do best with 2 meals a day (morning and evening). This mimics how they would hunt in the wild and keeps their hunger predictable.

  • Read the Label: Flip the Loyal Beast® bag over. We (and Century Pet Food) have printed a feeding guide based on weight. Start there!

    • Pro Tip: If your cat is a "couch potato," feed slightly less than the recommended amount. If they are an outdoor adventurer, they might need a little more.

  • No "Free Buffets": Leaving food out all day (free-feeding) often leads to boredom eating and weight gain. It’s better to have set mealtimes.

4. The Secret Ingredient: Water

Cats are notoriously bad at drinking water. In the wild, they get moisture from their prey. Since kibble is dry, you need to make sure they stay hydrated to prevent kidney issues.

  • Fresh is Best: Cats hate stale water. Change their water bowl every time you feed them Loyal Beast®.

  • Location, Location: Don't put the water bowl right next to the food bowl. Instinctively, cats think water near a "kill" (their food) might be contaminated. Move the water a few feet away, and they might drink more!
